スポットライトは孤立する
A spotlight is isolated.


スポットライトは鑑賞者から見ればその鑑賞物を際立たせる役を背負う。しかし見られる演技者にとってみれば、それは演技者だけの特殊な空間を作り出す装置である。影に包まれることによって自分以外には何も見えない。たとえばこれは庭において複数の人物が非同期的に踊るような関係を成立させるだろう。しかしその全体の姿は己には決して見ることができないのである。

A spotlight plays a role of making the object in the light very noticeable. A performer, on the other hand, regards it as a device to create a space special for him or her. Being surrounded by dark shadows, the performer is the only person to be seen. This could make it possible, for instance, for plural dancers to perform in the garden without synchronization. They themselves cannot have the whole view.
